Cooling Tower Limescale Treatment with Minimal Downtime and Increased Safety
Rio Tinto

4th February 2014 | descaling, limescale cleaner

Envirofluid was able to provide Rio Tinto with a worksafe organic acid blend which was guaranteed to not erode metal surfaces or create waste water treatment issues. This limescale cleaner achieved optimum descaling without dismantling any item on the system and the wastewater flush was able to be used as a road dust suppressant without further treatment.

Removing Limescale Build Up in a Commercial Laundry

12th February 2014 | laundry, descaling, limescale cleaner

A bio-based Triple7 product allowed a large commercial laundry operation to completely remove calcium limescale build up on their filters, whilst saving on labour costs. This worksafe procedure also removed risks to maintenance staff by removing strong acids from their inventory and the removal of grinding wheels/brushes from the process.

What is Limescale or Calcium Scale?

4th March 2014 | descaling, limescale cleaner, limescale, limescale how-to

Limescale (or Calcium Scale) is a hard, off-white chalky substance often found on the metallic parts of water-operated machinery. It is particularly common in machinery and equipment that involves heating elements (such as boilers) or heat transfer elements (such as heat exchangers). Limescale is also found in metal pipes, pumps, filters and other water equipment to varying degrees, depending on water quality. The build up of this scale, over time, can severely interfere with efficiency and reliability of machinery, pipework and processes leading to decreased efficiency and costly failures.

How to Choose a Limescale Remover

4th March 2014 | descaling, limescale cleaner, limescale, limescale how-to

Removal of limescale build-up can be achieved through mechanical or chemical descaling. Chemical descaling with a limescale remover is usually the fastest and most cost effective option. Chemical limescale removal is faster, cheaper and more thorough than mechanical methods however there are a few critical considerations when selecting a chemical de-scaling agent.

Removing Limescale and Organic Build-Up from Submarine Sewage Systems
Collins Class

19th October 2011 | descaling, limescale cleaner, limescale remover

The ability to reduce risks, improve outcomes, save costs and reduce environmental impact through the use of a GECA accredited, readily biodegradable, non-hazardous acid based chemistry was a total win for the Australian Defence Force.

Reducing Hazards and Expense in Heat Exchanger Limescale Removal
Defence Anzac Class

10th April 2012 | descaling, limescale cleaner, limescale remover

Envirofluid was able to provide the Australian Defence Force with Triple7 EnviroScale - a worksafe bio-based limescale remover which was guaranteed not to erode metal surfaces or create waste water treatment issues. Pipework and heat exchanger systems could be flushed insitu without the risk of corrosion or damage to elastomeric surfaces, resulting in very large labour and cost savings for the Australian Defence Force.

Cost Savings and Superior Results with a Biobased Limescale Remover
Coal Mine

14th March 2014 | descaling, limescale cleaner, limescale remover

A coal mine in Mackay was faced with a fire system that was blocked with a limescale build-up. Triple7 Enviroscale Plus easily broke down the scale, outperforming the previously used hydrochloric acid based product. Using the biobased product also removed the risk of corrosion or damage to elastomeric surfaces during the flush.
