Envirofluid helps Remove Calcium Limescale Build Up in a Commercial Laundry

A bio-based Triple7 product allowed a large commercial laundry operation to completely remove limescale build up on their filters, whilst saving on labour costs.

Improving Lives
Removing risks to maintenance staff by removing strong acids from their inventory and the removal of grinding wheels/brushes from the process.

Improving Business
The company experienced significant reduction in time taken for the complete limescale cleaning process as well as improving the cleaning result. They also had the added benefit of extending the life cycle of the stainless steel filters.
Another added benefit was that due to labour savings the maintenance workers could concentrate on maintaining and servicing other equipment.

& how we got there ...

The Situation

A large commercial laundry operation was experiencing problems with their process water filtering equipment. They were experiencing difficulty in removing the calcium build up on the filters and were having to remove the limescale by wire brushing and scraping.

The Challenge

To reduce the time and effort to remove the limescale from the stainless steel filters in a safe way for both the employees and the environment.

The Hazards

Existing procedures were to either apply strong acidic limescale cleaners which would damage the stainless steel filters, or to scrape and grind the scale build up off the filters and the stainless steel holding tank.
Both procedures had many workplace hazards associated with them with possible injurious outcomes to the maintenance workers and the environment.

The Solution: Triple7 Enviroscale

The filters were allowed to soak overnight in the stainless steel holding tank with a 10% solution of Triple7 Enviroscale limescale cleaner. The residue was then removed with a hose and a soft brush leaving the filters perfectly clean.

This procedure removed workdafety risks to maintenance staff by removing strong acids from their inventory and the removal of grinding wheels/brushes from the process.
